Golfing is in Full Swing at Apes Hill Barbados

What an exciting year it has been at Apes Hill Barbados. A certain highlight of 2022 has been opening our doors to you–our members, and your accompanying guests, for a golfing emprise that truly is on another level.

From taking in the scenic views of the 18-Hole, par-72 championship-level course to improving your game at the Golf Performance and Teaching Centre, or stocking up on apparel at the ProShop, Apes Hill Barbados is now open to offer its members an unparalleled Caribbean golfing experience.

Over the next couple of weeks, our Apes Hill Barbados festivities continue, and as we say bon voyage to 2022, we hope your season is sandy and bright, with 2023 bringing lots of prosperity. 

The Golf Performance and Teaching Centre is now open and it’s the first of its kind in the Caribbean. Officially opened on November 12, 2022, to an invested audience, golfers will truly appreciate the Performance and Teaching Centre, with state-of-the-art technology. 

The contemporary design has been created to facilitate airflow and incorporate the ‘outdoors feeling’ within the bays. There is also a patio overlooking the range and sports TV screens. Our trained professionals are on hand to coach members and their guests, offering services from swing analysis, custom fitting, and analyze biomechanics during the golf swing.

Adjacent to the Performance Centre, for added convenience, is a dedicated short game practice area. The greens design will accommodate a wide variety of shot making abilities, suited to all abilities. 

The facility forms part of the floodlit driving range which will have you practicing into the night. The driving range has an expansive teeing area where golfers can practice multiple targets, long range bunker shots or uneven lies.

This state-of-the-art facility is the first of its kind in the Caribbean, rivalling any performance centre in the USA, providing you with the chance to have the first opportunity to explore all that it has to offer.

As many of you will know, world-renowned golf course architect, Ron Kirby, designed our new par-72 golf course. The course has been cited as a ‘must-play’ venue, with stunning views over the Caribbean Sea to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. 

Set within 475 acres of natural, unspoiled terrain and perched on one of the highest points of Barbados 1,000ft above sea level, Ron Kirby has said “I’m proud to be a part of Apes Hill Barbados and I can sit back and say it’s one of mine.”

The layout has been beautifully crafted around the surrounding landscape and indigenous tropical forests, with sustainability at the forefront of the resort’s long-term plan.

It’s hard to find a golf course anywhere else that has the natural heritage, experience, and sustainability that we have sewn into the very fabric of Apes Hill Barbados.

In November we had the amazing opportunity to welcome our members to the re-imagined golf course. We are honored to reach this milestone with you. Your enjoyment of the friendlier course with new unmatched views, and the brand new relaxing Halfway House, our 20th Hole, has truly been heart-warming. 

Apes Hill Barbados is truly an evolving resort, and we will continue to offer fresh, new features to deliver a masterpiece within our ultra-luxurious experience. 

Looking ahead to 2023, we are eagerly anticipating the opening of our new Apes Hill Clubhouse, which is set to open early in the new year.
