New short course to open at Apes Hill in December 2024

Golf Course Architecture, the global journal of golf design and development, has shared the news of our new nine-hole par-three Little Apes course that will open in December 2024.

Little Apes is the newest addition to our golfing experience at Apes Hill Barbados, complementing our celebrated par-71, 18-hole championship course, masterfully redesigned by Ron Kirby in 2021.

A recent article in Golf Course Architecture notes this thoughtfully designed short course features holes inspired by iconic golf designs, ranging from 70 to 154 yards, offering a dynamic and inclusive experience for all.

From the outset, we’ve had a vision at Apes Hill Barbados to create an enjoyable and memorable golfing experience where you can feel at home no matter your skill level, age or how long you have been playing the game,” said Jody Addison, our director of golf at Apes Hill Barbados.

Building on the success of our iconic island green 19th hole, the short course brings a new dimension to our resort’s golfing experience.

Ron Kirby embodied that philosophy with his redesign of our championship course and it is an ethos that we have carried into Little Apes, which we believe will provide endless fun for young children and the whole family in equal measure.

Jody Addison, Director of Golf at Apes Hill Barbados
