Welcoming Dan Grieve to Apes Hill Barbados

We recently welcomed Dan Grieve, a Master PGA Coach and Head Professional at Woburn Golf Club, to Apes Hill Barbados. With a wealth of experience as both a player and coach, Dan has earned a reputation for his deep knowledge of the game and his ability to improve golfers’ skills at every level. He regularly leads golf clinics and workshops, both in the UK and internationally, sharing his expertise with players ranging from beginners to seasoned professionals. In addition to his coaching, Dan is widely recognised for his dedication to junior golf, where he plays a key role in mentoring and inspiring the next generation of talent.

It was a true pleasure to have Dan and his family stay with us at Apes Hill Barbados. From playing on our courses, to leading and teaching member clinics, to enjoying all that Barbados has to offer, there wasn’t a dull day! Read on to discover the highlights of his visit.

A Golfing Experience Like No Other

Our two courses, the Championship Course and the Par-3 Course, are designed to challenge players of all levels while offering breathtaking views of the island. The state-of-the-art practice facilities, including a world-class driving range, short game area, and putting greens, ensure that golfers have everything they need to perfect their game.

During his visit, Dan had the opportunity to experience both courses firsthand. The Championship Course, with its strategic bunkering, undulating greens, and stunning vistas, provided a true test for his skills, while the Par-3 Course offered fun for all the family.

He praised the course conditions, highlighting the challenges and unique features of the layout. "The practice facilities are superb, truly world class," Dan remarked, adding that "The Pro Shop is superb, really well stocked and service is really good."

During his visit, Dan hosted exclusive coaching clinics, sharing his expertise with our members. These sessions were designed to elevate participants’ short game skills, focusing on essential techniques and strategies to help golfers at all levels improve their performance around the greens. And it wasn’t all about golf - Dan and his family had the chance to fully embrace the island’s family-friendly fun.

One of the highlights for them was spending time together on the Little Apes Par-3 Course. He described the course as unique, noting how its shorter layout and variety of challenges made it the perfect setting for golfers of all ages and skill levels. It’s a place where families can enjoy the game together, fostering a fun and relaxed atmosphere while still delivering a true golfing experience. During their visit, Dan and his family also made friends with one of the member’s children, and they dined together a few times. He noted the quality of the food and the service from our staff, too - ‘the service from the range staff is superb, they really are fantastic, as attentive as I have seen anywhere.’
