Eco-Excellence in the Caribbean

"We didn’t just build another green golf course; we’re building an ecosystem rooted in responsible behaviour that puts our people, our wildlife and our planet first."
Sunil Chatrani, Executive Chairman, Apes Hill Barbados
The article also shines a light on Ed Paskins, our Golf Course Superintendent, and his hands-on leadership in building environmentally responsible courses both here and abroad. From natural irrigation practices to soil-first turf care, Ed’s team has transformed 70+ acres of playing surfaces into a biodiverse, low-impact landscape.
It notes our use of rainwater across the entire resort, with more than 60 million gallons stored on site helping us irrigate, maintain livestock pastures, and grow everything from cocoa trees to turmeric and edible plants used in our kitchens. As the article puts it, Apes Hill is setting “a new high bar for sustainable golf and resort communities in the Caribbean.”
"Growing grass is the easy part. I love going to work every day. I have 65 people on the team who are great characters and a real asset."
Ed Paskins
The feature also mentions our bee apiaries, fruit orchards, and farm-to-fork practices that bring food straight from our fields to The Noisy Cricket restaurant and how we’re inspiring other resorts across the region to adopt similar standards.
We’re incredibly proud to see our passion for preservation recognised by Audubon International, and we remain committed to building a future where golf, wellness, and sustainability thrive together.
