A Festive Season to Remember at Apes Hill

The festive season at Apes Hill brought members together through a full calendar of events, shared moments and island-led celebrations. December and January balanced social energy with the calm.

For our members, it was a chance to reconnect and spend time together. For those considering Apes Hill through a short stay visit, it offered a clear picture of what community life looks like during the busiest time of year.

Highlights from the festive calendar

The season began with ‘Aglow for the Holidays’, a community lighting event that set a festive tone across the resort. The evening included a new event, our night golf experience, which was met with positive feedback from those who played and added a playful twist to the calendar.

The Members’ Christmas Eve Cocktail and Buffet Dinner was another standout moment, made especially memorable by a performance from the Gordon Greenidge School Choir. It was a highlight for many and reflected Apes Hill’s close connection to the wider island community.

Our New Year’s Eve event ‘Timeless’, followed bringing members together for an evening of live music, curated dining and fireworks. The event struck a balance between celebration and ease, welcoming the new year with style and togetherness.

Alongside these events, ‘Elf Academy’ unfolded as a multi-week children’s series, culminating in a Christmas Pyjamas and Story Night.

The season closed with ‘Music in the Jungle’, bringing live entertainment into an atmospheric setting and rounding out the festive programme.

A fresh coconut station proved to be one of the most popular elements of the market, drawing a steady stream of people throughout the afternoon.

Celebrating with flavour

Dining played a central role throughout the festive season at Apes Hill. Events brought inspiration from a wide range of regions, including an Asian Buffet, BBQs, Tacos and Tequila Night, Caribbean Sing-Alongs and Beach Club Sunset Parties. Each cuisine helped to create a different atmosphere, supported by attentive service from our team.

The New Year’s Brunch offered a slower start to 2026, with live music and light à la carte options that encouraged members to ease into the year ahead.

Wellbeing, nature and balance

Alongside the celebrations, members were able to slow down and reset before the new year. Yoga at the Beach Club, guided nature hikes and gentle fitness and sound healing sessions at the limestone kiln, which provided an ideal space for mindfulness and reflection.

Nature-based experiences, including the Tree and Garden Tour and an off-site hike to Chalky Mount, encouraged members to reconnect with the landscape. The return of the Farmers Market added another layer, offering fresh produce and an authentic connection to the island.

These experiences formed part of the Apes Hill rhythm, allowing members to celebrate without losing balance.

Golf and sport with a twist

Sport remained a constant throughout the festive period. Weekly Ladies’ and Mixed Golf Pots continued as usual, maintaining familiar routines.

The Little Apes Championship welcomed junior players for a supportive and encouraging round. Greenkeeper’s Revenger added humour and surprise through playful course obstacles. Padel Clinics and a Doubles Tournament created opportunities for friendly competition and social connection.

Together, these moments provided an opportunity for physical wellbeing and kept community life moving through the holidays.

For the kids – full swing from tee to tree

For younger members, the festive season included daily ‘Elf on the Shelf’ moments that added anticipation across the resort.

The five-part Elf Academy series offered creative activities such as stocking and ornament decorating, gingerbread house building and apron making. The programme concluded with a Story Night, where children gathered in Christmas pyjamas for a relaxed festive reading.

Moments that made it feel like home

Throughout the season, events created space for genuine interaction. Members spending time together over drinks, children playing nearby, neighbours meeting through classes, sport or shared meals.

Rather than feeling like a packed schedule, the festive calendar reflected everyday life at Apes Hill when the community is at its most active. Relaxed, thoughtful and connected.

Looking Ahead

The 2025 festive season at Apes Hill was defined by shared experiences and a strong sense of belonging.
