You'll find there are no restrictions on foreign ownership: residents and non-residents are treated the same in Barbados with respect to the ability to purchase property.
The two primary methods in which Barbados property is purchased are:

Non-national buyers will need to seek permission first from the Barbados Central Bank. This is merely a formality and the local attorney will manage this process as well as the registration of foreign currency coming in to Barbados, so that when a non-national decides to resell their home, they may apply to take the foreign currency back out of Barbados.
Once a price is agreed and a local attorney is engaged, it will typically take between 60-90 days to close the purchase of a property. If a local mortgage is involved, it may take slightly longer. Our property sales team are on hand to help take you through the process.
