Barbados: The Caribbean’s Luxury Golf Destination

We’re delighted to be featured by GolfPass, where Jason Scott Deegan ranks Apes Hill among his top Caribbean courses and calls it a resort on the rise with golf and lifestyle perfectly dialled.

The piece paints a picture of life 1000 feet above sea level, where cooler breezes, rainforest backdrops and coastal views combine with a championship-level golf course to create something truly special. Deegan praises the recent renovation by the late Ron Kirby and highlights the par-3 16th as one of the most scenic holes in the Caribbean, framed by a pond in front and a natural cave behind.

From our wild and dramatic back nine to our bonus island green 19th hole with its island green, the article celebrates Apes Hill’s elevated yet effortless golf experience. There’s a nod too to our Legends Tour event hosted by Former Masters Champion and Ryder Cup Captain Ian Woosnam, whose vision for the resort continues to shape our story.

"I’d rank Apes Hill among my three favourite Caribbean golf courses. It’s that good."

Jason Scott Deegan, GolfPass

The article goes beyond the fairways to explore our growing residential and guest offering. Deegan describes our ultra-luxury Hilltop Villas as modern, stylish and built for barefoot living with open plan spaces, infinity pools and private patios made for long afternoons and lively evenings.

Golf carts come with each villa for easy access to all 475 acres of the resort. Guests and owners can enjoy the Little Apes par three course, our world-class Performance Centre and the many ways to stay active from hiking and tennis to yoga and swimming.

Deegan also calls attention to our sustainability efforts including 60 acres of organic farming, 40 beehives and native planting across the course. There’s a sense of calm and care to the way we do things here and he captures that beautifully.

The article closes with a beachside evening under the stars and a spontaneous moment as crabs scuttle across the sand. A reminder that nature has the final word here and that luxury and simplicity can live side by side.
