Apes Hill Featured in Kingdom Magazine

We’re proud to be featured in the latest edition of Kingdom, where Robin Barwick, Shaun Tolson and Bruce Wallin explore what makes Apes Hill one of the Caribbean’s most exclusive golf destinations.

The article highlights the transformation of the resort’s Championship Course, redesigned by Ron Kirby and reopened in 2022. Described as a crown jewel of Barbados golf, the layout moves through forested terrain at 1000 feet above sea level, with long views across both the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.

It draws a thoughtful comparison to Kirby’s most iconic work at Old Head Golf Links in Ireland, noting the shared focus on elevation, visual drama and a strong connection to the land. The writers point out that at certain points on the course, you can see both coastlines at once, a detail that leaves a lasting impression.

"Golfers will enjoy simultaneous views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea."

The piece also reflects on the evolution of Apes Hill. Once operated as a semiprivate club, it is now a private community where membership comes with property ownership. The result is a more intimate, resident-focused experience shaped by those who call the resort home.

There’s also a nod to our boutique appeal for holiday guests. With a select number of villas available for short stays, visitors can enjoy the full Apes Hill experience from golf and nature to wellbeing and community, all within one beautifully elevated setting.
